2. Information We Collect
Information You Provide Directly
- Contact information: Name, email address, phone number when you contact us or request an audit
- Business information: Business name, website URL, and location when you use the AVaTR™ Scanner or purchase services
- Payment information: Processed by our payment processor (Stripe). CiVallo does not store full credit card numbers on our servers
- Communications: Any messages, emails, or other communications you send to us
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: Pages visited, time spent, referring URL, browser type, device type
- IP address: Used for security, fraud prevention, and approximate location
- Cookies: Session cookies for functionality; analytics cookies if you consent
Information From Third Parties
- Google Places API: When you scan a business, we query Google Places for publicly available business data including rating, review count, and photo count
- Website technical data: When you submit a URL for scanning, our system fetches and analyzes publicly accessible content from that website

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
CiVallo does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers: Hosting (Cloudflare), payment processing (Stripe), and email services — all bound by data processing agreements
- Google Places API: Business names and approximate locations submitted to Google’s API to retrieve publicly available GBP data. Governed by Google’s Privacy Policy
- Anthropic API: Business name, URL, and technical scan data submitted to Anthropic’s Claude API for AI analysis. We do not submit your personal contact information to Anthropic
- Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights
- Business transfer: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with advance notice to affected users
5. Data Retention
- Audit reports: Retained for 24 months after delivery, then deleted unless you request otherwise
- Contact and billing records: Retained for 7 years for legal and tax compliance
- Website analytics: Retained for 12 months in aggregate form
- Scanner inputs (URL, business name): Not retained beyond the session unless associated with a paid order
You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting legal@civallo.com.
6. Cookies
- Strictly necessary cookies: Required for the site and scanner to function. Cannot be disabled.
- Analytics cookies: Used to understand how visitors use the site. Only set with your consent.
7. Your Rights
California Residents — CCPA/CPRA Rights
As a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA):
- Right to Know: Request disclosure of personal information we have collected, including categories, sources, purposes, and third parties it has been shared with
- Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions
- Right to Correct: Request correction of inaccurate personal information we hold about you
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing: CiVallo does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights

- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data

- Unsubscribe: Opt out of marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link or by emailing us
8. Data Security
To report a security concern or potential data issue, contact security@civallo.com directly.
We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, access controls, and secure third-party infrastructure (Cloudflare, Stripe). No internet transmission is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable California law.
9. Children’s Privacy
CiVallo’s services are intended for business owners and professionals aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, contact security@civallo.com immediately and we will delete it promptly.
10. Third-Party Links
Our website may contain links to third-party sites. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, notify affected users by email.
